Our 2009 Alaska Trip

Me and my Dew! Headed down the road.

This is "Merlin" and "Party".
Both very well behaved travelers.
Party traveled from Georgia to Anchorage, AK, and Merlin went from
Washington to Anchorage, AK.

Welcome to Idaho.

Gorgeous scenery to view along the way.

And some really BIG Bucks, too!

Approaching the Canadian Customs Border Crossing at Sumas, WA.

We made it through without much delay.

For all you old car buffs - a 1972 Pontiac GTO - looking very nice!

Going underground. I love British Columbia!
Hell's Gate Air Tram

Ahhh.... I'm not getting on this thing,.... I'll just say... I've
been there!
Click on the above pic to read more about the Air Tram.

108 mile house on Highway 37 in British Columbia.

The rest area is very nice.

Just checking out the ride!

Party and Merlin - ready to go!

On the road again - Sure is pretty in British Columbia.

Coming into.... and Leaving Smithers, BC.

Moricetown, BC., We've been here before. The Dept. of
Fisheries is tagging and releasing large salmon.

What a JOB! Notice that the two guys are TIED to the rocks.
Looks a bit slippery to me!

Right turn... We're getting there.

A map of Hwy 37 - click on the above pic for a larger version.

It's August and there's snow on the mountain top.

Perfect Picture - postcard material!

Almost to the Alaska Highway, just 100 miles to go, then left.

It's 1 AM and getting some sleep.

Highway 37. Really bad road conditions for about the last 150
miles before the AK Highway left turn.

Pickhandle Lake, one of my favorite places to take a break.

Welcome to Alaska!

Merlin and Party taking a rest in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.
Time to go. Only 600 miles to Anchorage. It will be a
long day.

Good Boy, Merlin!

Good Boy, Party!

WATCH IT!!!! Baby Moose..... was in the middle of the highway after
leaving TOK, AK.

Beautiful road .. for now.

Delivering "Merlin" in Anchorage.
Party has only 30 miles to go to his destination in Anchorage.

Delivering "Party" to his new home.
This is KoKo Pops. KoKo, a 13 year-old Arabian gelding that
traveled with us from Washington to Montana.

From KoKo Pop's new family:
Hey Marshall,
Thanks for checking in. The short trip home went smoothly, and
we unloaded without any trouble. Koko (or Pops as we have been
calling him) is doing really well and enjoying his new home.
Thanks so much for transporting him, and taking such care during his
travel....not to mention all your patience in getting him reloaded.
I was hoping to get some better pictures, but here a few that I took
the day after he arrived.
Hope your trip has gone, and is going, well.
Thanks again,
Dayna, Jake and Pops.
