Our 2007 Alaska Trip

Here are Flash, Tuffi and Annie ready for their long trip.
All three horses rode with us from Wyoming to Fairbanks, AK
Annie (right) is 18 years young and both Flash and Tuffi are in
their 20's (but don't tell them that :) )

On the left is "Midas Touch" (5 year old Arabian) went from
Wisconsin to Chugiak AK. On the right is "Amazing Grace" (4
year old paint mare) whose new home is at Elmendorf AFB.

This rest stop was in Alberta, Canada.
Having a rest stop or two along the way relieves the stresses and
health concerns of the horses while traveling such long distances.
They get to stand on solid ground, move about and get something to
eat (that isn't moving with the trailer).

Our other rest stop was in Whitehorse at this boarding facility.

This facility offers secure paddocks,

and comfy shelters.

Midas was definitely feeling great as he exercised around the
paddock.

While the more experienced travelers took advantage of the green
grass and hay.

Loading time at Whitehorse. It was a race to see who would
get in first.

Tuffi and Flash are ready to go.

Loading Gracie (such a good girl - right in the first time)

Midas and Annie road together.
All these horses were great travelers - well mannered and easy
loaders.

Finally, Delivery Day. Here are Gracie and Deborah (left)
and Midas with Valerie and family (right).
Of course there are also times for doing some tourist type of
pictures - see these below.

Gorgeous Scenic views of sunsets....... and history lessons as
well.

The road out of British Columbia (it seems to go on for ever).

A view Pickhandle Lake.

Leaving Whitehorse, only 600 miles to go.
